WHAT WE DO

Investing in Black Communities

We are Canada’s first-ever philanthropic foundation dedicated to investing in Black communities. FFBC was created for, and driven by, Black communities in Canada; it exists to ensure their flourishing and self-determination.

Grants

We provide grants to Black-led, Black-serving, and Black-focused grassroots, nonprofit, and charitable organizations in Canada to help support initiatives and research that meet the needs and priorities of Black communities.

Collaboration

Collaborative partner to the philanthropic sector and all levels of government to support and address Black communities' priorities—including the equitable allocation and distribution of resources to Black people in Canada.

Influencing Policy

We seek to educate and inform key stakeholders in the philanthropic, public, and private sectors in order to influence decision and policy making that promotes responsiveness to the needs and priorities of Black people.
